"While UKM political scientist Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Agus Yusoff says the board’s action is a good first move, he, however, believes it is only cosmetic in nature.
He questions why Ali is not suspended from the party and gets to hang on to his Malacca Chief Minister post while in the last election, Tan Sri Isa Samad (who was found guilty of money politics) was made to quit his ministerial post, sacked as vice-president and suspended from the party for six years, which upon appeal was reduced to three years.
“There has been over 1,000 complaints made to the board, why have they only dealt with 29 cases? What happened to the complaints against (Datuk) Norza (Zakaria) and (Datuk) Azalina Othman Said?” he asks.
